The International House Certificate in Advanced Methodology (CAM) offers the high level of methodological input which:
- Many teachers seek for reasons of personal self-development
- Many teachers need as preparation for a Diploma level qualification such as the Cambridge DELTA.
Because of the high level of input involved, the course is aimed at teachers with at least two year’s full-time experience. The focus of the course is General English to Adults, but the input can easily be transferred to other sub areas in ELT (e.g. Business English, one to One, ESP, Teenagers, etc).
A menu of 20 sessions is available, each of 5 hours duration, thereby providing 100 hours of input which is available to a school to run in face-to-face and in an online formats through our centre (online version to come in 2015). A further 30 hours (at least) will be spent on other work such as recommended reading, homework tasks and classroom-based action research. In addition to the input and post-session tasks, participants will have some reading to do before the sessions, a series of homework tasks and an end-of-course assignment.
From 1st March 2014 CAM course participants will receive a certificate from ih that also has the words ‘Moderated by Cambridge English Language Assessment’.
